Castle Mountains National Monument is a rugged desert landscape in southeastern California. Getting here is a challenge, as the only roads to, from, and inside the park are unpaved. If you manage to find your way here, it’s guaranteed to be worth it. You’ll have unspoiled views of perfectly preserved desert mostly to yourself.
