Where to Stay Near Sequoia National Park

All distances below are between the lodging and Sequoia National Park’s Ash Mountain entrance station. From the entrance, it takes another hour to climb the winding Generals Highway 18 miles to the world’s largest trees.

Comfort Inn

This hotel is one of the best places to stay near Sequoia National Park thanks to its proximity to other services. A short walk across the street provides access to a market, post office, pharmacy, thrift store, and two restaurants. There’s also a Subway on the same side of the highway that is also within walking distance.
If finances are a concern, the Comfort Inn is one of the more affordable options.

Food options: None; within walking distance is a Subway, a small market, a Mexican restaurant, and a pizza place.

Gateway Lodge

When researching where to stay near Sequoia National Park, you may notice that many hotels are a bit of a drive from the entrance. The Gateway Lodge is one of the few exceptions.
Located along the Kaweah River, this is one of the more charming locations in Three Rivers. It’s also the only hotel on the list that includes its own restaurant and bar. Its accommodations are not the most modern, so I wouldn’t stay here if you are expecting nice amenities.

Lazy J Ranch

The Lazy J is one of the more popular places to stay near Sequoia National Park. You can walk from here to the river, including the popular Sliding Rock Recreation Area.
Cottages are available for those seeking a more romantic getaway.

The Parks Inn Bed & Breakfast

If you’d prefer a Bed and Breakfast experience, look no further than the Parks Inn. Of all the Sequoia National Park lodging on this list, it is located farthest from the entrance. Stay here if you want a delicious meal brought to your room in the morning or if you’re seeking a quieter place to stay near Sequoia National Park.

The River Inn
